LLOM Project: Language Learning Online in the Age of Mobility

11.10.2019

From 15-17 October 2019 within the LLOM project, a training event for university staff/academics and language teachers takes place at the Centre for Teacher Education.

The core objectives of the LLOM project (Language Learning Online in the age of Mobility) are:

  • To equip teacher education students and in-service teachers with tools and methods for computer or mobile-assisted language learning opportunities by providing both hands-on experience accompanied by open educational resources and relevant theoretical background.
  • To increase awareness of specific features and context of mobile / online language learning by designing and providing trainings / webinars for further professional development of academic staff.
  • To establish a sustainable and scalable framework for creating a high-quality mobile language learning App, by experimenting a crowdsourcing approach and involving EU universities (students and academics) in its content creation.

The training session held in Vienna, 15.- 17 Oct will introduce the participants to results of the project so far and provides an opportunity test and assess the materials and approaches selected. The participants will explore possibilities to use the materials in their own classes and they will be equipped with ideas on how to promote the use of materials to their colleagues at their home institutions.
