University continuing education and training programme “Integration of Children and Young Adults with Emotional and Social Problems in the Context of School“

With this university continuing education and training programme, the University of Vienna offers teachers a research-based, extra-occupational advanced training. The focus of the programme lies on working with children and young adults at school and on the process of integrating them into the school routine. Participants of this course analyse relevant situations of conflict based on pedagogical theory and develop academically sound practice concepts. They are specifically trained to work in the following three fields of activity:

• Designing and organising teaching in special types of classes (like integrated, remedial and small classes)
• Providing continuous individual care for particularly challenged students (including the counselling of teachers and parents)
• Providing mobile counselling and crisis intervention programmes to school-related organisations
